How to make fig jam

Before starting to elaborate this homemade jam, you must prepare all the figs very well. Ideally, you acquire figs that are fresh and ripe which have a kind of cracks in the skin. When you have them, wash and peel them very carefully to prevent them from breaking if they are too tender.


Once they are well peeled, put the figs in a pot or saucepan and pour water until it covers at least half of the figs. Place the pot on the fire, let them cook for about 15 minutes and stir with a wooden spoon occasionally.


Now add the sugar above the figs and also pour the lemon juice, which you must have previously extracted. Make sure the lemon juice is well distributed and soak all the fruit evenly.
